1 October 2009	Week's Pay	The maximum week's pay used, amongst other things, for the calculation of statutory redundancy has been increased from £350 to £380.

1 October 2009	Tips and Service Charges	Employers are now prohibited from counting service charges and tips towards the payment of the national minimum wage.

October 2009	Additional Paternity Leave	The Government has started consultation on the rules to be introduced (for babies due after 3 April 2011) which will allow the partners of mothers to take up to 26 weeks leave, once the mother has returned to her work.
